“Out of Touch” is a poignant exploration into the disconnection that plagues modern, industrialized societies. This project, conceived during my global travels for “In Touch,” delves into the underlying causes and manifestations of our estrangement from nature, ourselves, and one another.
In Western cultures and industrialized environments, comfort and convenience have become paramount, fostering a worship of consumerism and wealth. This pursuit has led us to inhabit sterile, enclosed spaces, far removed from the organic rhythm of natural life and ecosystems. We have evolved into an individualistic society where transactional relationships overshadow genuine human connections, and the sense of community is increasingly undervalued.
“Out of Touch” examines how this shift has caused a profound imbalance between “thinking” and “feeling,” resulting in a pervasive sense of emptiness. Our reality is often a relentless race between past regrets and future expectations, leaving little room for presence and true connection.
Through this project, I aim to shed light on the emotional and psychological landscapes of those living in environments devoid of real feelings. It is an attempt to understand and articulate the deep void created by our modern lifestyles. “Out of Touch” invites viewers to reflect on the cost of our comfort-driven existence and consider the impact of our disconnection from what truly matters.
