In 2009, I embarked on a transformative journey that spanned over 50 countries, seeking to capture the essence of human connection through the lens of my camera. “In Touch” is an exploration of the subtle, yet profound moments that unite us with ourselves, each other, and the natural world.
This project was born from a deep sense of loneliness and disconnection. I set out to understand the diverse ways in which people around the globe foster a sense of togetherness amidst varying circumstances, cultures, and daily routines. My journey revealed a stark contrast between the fragmented, consumer-driven lifestyles prevalent in the West and the profound, often crisis-induced connections observed in less affluent regions.
In societies where wealth is scarce and crises common, I discovered that people naturally gravitate towards what truly matters: genuine connection and presence in the moment. These encounters, captured in my photographs, showcase the resilience and simplicity that emerge when people return to the core of human experience.
“In Touch” invites viewers to reflect on their own lives and consider the elements that foster true connection. It challenges us to look beyond material wealth and consumerism, urging a return to the basics of human interaction and the beauty of being present.
